NXDATA-1 represents the core of the NXDATA interconnection ecosystem and one of the main connectivity and traffic exchange hubs in Romania.
CARRIER-NEUTRAL COLOCATION CENTER
NXDATA-1 is the first carrier-neutral colocation center in Romania. Operating for more than two decades, the facility hosts over 110 networks and more than 10 Internet Exchange points, bringing together telecom operators, cloud providers, hosting companies, service providers and CDN providers in a connectivity-independent ecosystem.
The connectivity available on-site and access to Internet Exchanges make NXDATA-1 an important hub for the interconnection of IT&C infrastructure in Romania and Southeastern Europe.
CARRIER-GRADE PHYSICAL INFRASTRUCTURE
The connection to the national power grid is secured through two 2,000 kVA / 20 kV transformers in a redundant configuration. The total installed capacity exceeds 2 MW
The UPS systems are configured in an N+N redundant architecture, with 2 × 800 kVA, 2 × 400 kVA, 2 × 300 kW and 2 × 400 kW units. Battery autonomy at nominal load is 15 minutes.
Diesel generators with capacities of 2 × 1,500 kVA, 2 × 802 kVA and 4 × 571 kVA are configured in a redundant N+N configuration, with a minimum autonomy of 12 hours without refueling. The generators are dedicated exclusively to the operation of the NXDATA-1 data center.
The cooling system is configured in an N+1 redundant architecture, with adiabatic cooling providing the additional capacity. The average temperature is maintained at 24°C ±5°C, with relative humidity between 25% and 75%, measured in the cold aisle at a height of 1.1 m.
The fire detection system uses VESDA technology for continuous air monitoring. The colocation rooms are additionally equipped with smoke, temperature, pressure and humidity sensors.
The fire suppression system uses INERGEN gas installations and is designed to release the gas at a pressure of 300 bar.
Video surveillance is provided through a CCTV/VSS system that continuously monitors access to and activity within the facility. Video recordings are retained for a period of 30 days.
The equipment lift has a capacity of 2.5 tonnes and dimensions of 2 × 4 × 2.2 m. The facility also has a dedicated ramp for loading and unloading equipment.
NXDATA-1 data center is operated and monitored 24×7×365.
NXDATA-1 provides direct access to Internet Exchanges such as INTERLAN-IX and RoNIX, which have points of presence at the facility, as well as to Balkan-IX and Balkan Internet Exchange through fiber-optic links connecting NXDATA-1 and NXDATA-2. The facility also provides access to the TVX (TV Exchange) platform, dedicated to audio and video content distribution.
The contractual SLA for electrical power and environmental services is 99.95%.
